Tasks and Events
Day-to-day tasks & events allow NRC to track day-to-day administrative information about a record for up to one-year. The following Day-to-day tasks & events are used in Cycles:
Activity tracking is available on the right side of the screen for organizations, contacts, partnerships, and all types of >grants<. Day-to-day tasks & events allow you to see a timeline of past activity and next steps.
Create a New Task
Navigate to an organization, contact, or partnership record. Select the “New Task” tab in the right column, and fill out the core information about your task.
Note that in "Related To" field you can change the type of related >grants< by selecting the icon, and choosing the record type (such as organization, partnership, project, etc.) from the dropdown menu.
When you are finished, click “Save”. You will then be able to see your upcoming task in the “Next Steps” portion of the activity timeline.

Create a New Event
Navigate to an organization, contact, or partnership record. Under the “New Event” tab in the right column, select “Set up an Event”, and fill out the core information about your event.
Note that in "Related To" field you can change the type of related record by selecting the icon, and choosing the record type (such as organization, partnership, project, etc.) from the dropdown menu.
When you are finished, click “Save”. You will then be able to see your upcoming event in the “Next Steps” portion of the activity timeline.
Log a Call
Navigate to an organization, contact, or partnership record. Select “Log a Call” tab in the right column, and fill out the core information about your call.
Note that in "Related To" field you can change the type of related record by selecting the icon, and choosing the record type (such as organization, partnership, project, etc.) from the dropdown menu.
When you are finished, click “Save”. You will then be able to see your logged call in the “Past Activity” portion of the activity timeline.
