Proposal

Proposals are a >grants< type that allow NRC to capture information related to the Formulation Phase. Proposals are automatically created when a status of “Go” is set on an opportunity.

Making amendments to a proposal

Navigate to the >Grants< tab at the navigation bar. In the upper left side of the page, click the dropdown that says, “Recently Viewed”. Select “Proposals”.

Select and open a proposal.

The subtabs “Deadlines & Milestones”, “Partnerships”, “Files”, columns “Locations & Core Competencies”, and “Day-to-Day Tasks & Events” will have carried over from the opportunity stage.

First, fill out the formulation information for the proposal. If the proposal planning meeting, procurement plan, or work plan are not required, select the checkbox indicating so. The “Formulation Mandatory Actions” checkbox will automatically check when all formulation mandatory actions have been completed.

Second, fill out the beneficiary estimate Information. The "Estimated Number of Beneficiaries” field will automatically sum the amounts included in the other beneficiary fields.

Next, fill out the proposal submission information. If a concept note is not needed for this opportunity, select “Concept note not needed”. After the Proposal has been drafted and attached in the "Files" subtab, click the checkbox for “Proposal Attached?”

If a proposal was submitted and NRC received a response from the donor (either accepted or rejected), fill out the after submission information section.

If a proposal was accepted and should be turned into a contract, select “Award Agreement Signed?” and enter the NRC Award Code.

Click "Save".

VERY IMPORTANT: If “Award Agreement Signed?” is checked and the NRC Award Code field is populated, the proposal will automatically convert into a contract when a user clicks "Save".

Additionally, if the “Proposal Submission Outcome” is set to NRC Preliminary Guarantee and the NRC Award Code field is populated, the proposal will automatically convert into a contract when a user clicks "Save".

The NRC Award Code will become the contract name with a “C” at the end to indicate it is a contract.

NOTE: The Pre-signing checklist should be added to the "Files" subtab.
