Identification
During the Identification Phase (more on PCM phases here), a solicitation from a donor – a potential funding source or a funding "opportunity" – is identified (often by Institutional Partner Advisers, Regional Partner Advisers, or Heads of Program) and a decision on whether or not to pursue it is made at the country management level based on whether the opportunity is aligned with country strategy and capacity, as well as NRC donor requirements. This alignment is reviewed during the Go/No-Go Meeting.
The mandatory deliverable during this phase is the Go/No-Go checklist.
The Cycles >grants< type that is specific to the Identification Phase of PCM is an opportunity. During the Identification Phase, an opportunity's key information as outlined by the donor is captured in Cycles. This information is then evaluated with the Go/No-Go Checklist. If the outcome of the Go/No-Go meeting is "Go," the decision to pursue a proposal, this decision is reflected in PMIS, the opportunity automatically converts to a "proposal" record type.
For instructions on how to create an opportunity, continue to the Opportunities sub-page.
Please note that Cycles >grants< are stored as individual entities under the >Grants< navigation bar tab. This tab hosts all the >grants< types: opportunities, proposals, contracts, projects, field projects. You can view all of them or filter by >grants< type or recently viewed.
